StarArtist strictly complies with the personal information protection laws of the Republic of Korea to protect your valuable personal information.

Significance of the Privacy Policy

The Privacy Policy carries the following important meanings:

  • It transparently provides information on what data StarArtist collects, how it uses collected data, with whom it shares data as needed (entrustment or provision), and when and how it destroys data once its purpose has been fulfilled.
  • It informs users of their rights regarding personal information and how to exercise those rights.
  • In case of a personal information breach, users can find ways to prevent additional damage and respond to damages that have already occurred.
  • It serves as a means to guarantee users' right to self-determination of personal information by defining the rights and obligations between StarArtist and users.

Personal Information Collected

Users can access some content without signing up. However, you must register to enjoy all of StarArtist's content. When you wish to become a member, StarArtist collects only the minimum personal information necessary for service use.

StarArtist may also collect IP addresses, service usage records, device information, location data, etc. during the course of using the service.

When uploading an artist profile, StarArtist may collect specific personal information and facial photographs for identity verification depending on the type of artist (director, actor, staff).

Except for the above cases, the company may collect additional personal information in special circumstances. When additional personal information is collected, the company will inform users of the items being collected, the purpose of collection and use, and the retention period, and obtain consent at the time of collection.

How StarArtist Collects Personal Information

  • When users consent to collection and directly input information during registration and service use
  • When collected through webpages, email, fax, phone, etc. during customer service consultations
  • When collected through written forms at offline events, seminars, etc.
  • When received from external companies or organizations affiliated with StarArtist (in such cases, the affiliate obtains consent from users for personal information provision in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act before providing it to StarArtist)
  • When automatically generated and collected during the use of PC web, mobile web/app

Use of Collected Personal Information

StarArtist uses personal information only for the following purposes: member management, service development, provision and improvement, and building a safe internet environment.

  • Member management including verification of registration intent, age verification, legal representative consent, identity verification, and confirmation of withdrawal intent
  • Provision of personalized services and advertising based on personal information and interests
  • Identity verification, purchase and payment processing, and product/service delivery for paid services
  • Marketing and promotional purposes including event information, participation opportunities, and advertising information
  • Service usage statistics, service analysis, and customized service provision and advertising based on statistics
  • Building a service environment where users can feel secure in terms of security, privacy, and safety

Provision and Entrustment of Personal Information

StarArtist does not, in principle, provide personal information to external parties without user consent. However, personal information is provided only when: a user has directly consented to providing personal information to use an external partner's service; when StarArtist has a legal obligation to submit personal information under applicable laws; or when it is necessary to address confirmed threats to a user's life or imminent danger.

Destruction of Personal Information

The company, in principle, destroys users' personal information without delay upon membership withdrawal or when the purpose of use has been achieved.

However, when separate consent has been obtained from users regarding the retention period, or when laws impose an obligation to retain information for a certain period, personal information is safely stored for that period.

Cases where consent regarding retention period was obtained at the time of membership or service registration are as follows:

  • Login records under the Protection of Communications Secrets Act: retained for 3 months
  • Electronic financial transaction records under the Electronic Financial Transactions Act: retained for 5 years
  • Records related to contracts or withdrawal of offers under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce: retained for 5 years
  • Records related to payment and supply of goods: retained for 5 years
  • Records related to consumer complaints or dispute resolution: retained for 3 years

Electronic files are safely deleted using technical methods to prevent recovery and reproduction. Printed materials are destroyed by shredding or incineration.

Rights of Users and Legal Representatives and How to Exercise Them

  • Users can view, modify, or delete their personal information at any time through 'My Page -> Edit Member Information' and can request access to their personal information.
  • If a user requests correction of errors in personal information, the relevant personal information will not be used or provided until the correction is completed. If incorrect personal information has been provided to a third party, the correction results will be promptly notified to the third party to ensure corrections are made.

StarArtist's Efforts to Protect Personal Information

StarArtist does its best to safely manage users' personal information and protects personal information above the level required by the Personal Information Protection Act.

We have established and implemented internal management plans for personal information protection. We also implement access control and access rights restriction measures for personal information. We implement encryption measures for safe storage and transmission of personal information and take measures for retention and prevention of forgery and alteration of personal information access records. We regularly back up data in preparation for damage to personal information and use the latest antivirus programs to prevent leakage or damage to users' personal information and data.

StarArtist ensures that only designated personnel can handle personal information and assigns regularly updated passwords. Designated personnel receive regular training on personal information protection and verify compliance with related laws, striving to immediately correct any issues.

Obligation to Notify Before Revision

If there are additions, deletions, or modifications to this Privacy Policy, prior notice will be given through 'Notices' at least 7 days before the revision. However, in cases of significant changes to user rights, notice will be given at least 30 days in advance, and user consent may be obtained again if necessary.
